James Franklin Corn papers, 1917-1987.

Papers centered around the activities of the 117th Infantry Regiment of the U.S. Army's 30th Infantry Division during World War I and World War II. The division, nicknamed "Old Hickory," was composed primarily of soldiers from Tennessee and the Carolinas; it was instrumental in bringing about the defeat of Germany in both wars. The papers consist of general orders (1917-1963), personal correspondence, regimental reunion materials, regimental newsletters, and documents relating to the history of the division.
